Old World Royale
A downloadable Royale
This is extremely in progress and below I will label all of the known issues as well as things I plan to add, but before that my eventual plan for the game is this:
A Battle Royale game where there is a medium to large amount of players (between about 20-100) battling it out using only medieval and earlier weapons. An idea I also had was to make the game essentially a comedy game by making all of the physics extremely crazy and practically uncontrollable, however I'm not sure If I'll be sticking to that moving forward. However the map itself features multiple different landmarks, and although I was not able to complete all of them that I would've liked, I did get a solid amount done and fleshed out the base world enough to where I'm happy with it and can expand on it from here. The main locations are; A desert featuring an oasis with many rocky cliffs but an overall flat area meaning you can't hide from opponents, A mountain range with varying elevations allowing you to out maneuver your enemies and get the drop on them, A large lake with the fabled sky island looming overhead, And finally an interesting rock formation large enough to hide an entire building behind let alone you. Currently with a spawn platform at each of these four distinct locations, each player will find different loot, have a different battle strategy, and be forced to adapt to any and all forms of combat.
Things I plan too add:
Sadly I was not able to get any form of weapons/combat into the game to test let alone multiplayer. I would also like to eventually eliminate the spawning platforms (as there are only 4 of them and I want many other players) and I'd like to add a unique way of dropping the players into the world. The weapon classes (I call them classes because I don't want to go into vast detail about all of them) that I plan to add are; Sword, simple yet effective, parry ability, slash through leather armor. Dagger(s), much faster, much less range and less damage, move quicker, can be thrown. Mace, bash through plate and chain armor, heavier and slower but packs a punch. Axe, less range and slower than the sword but a good combo of heavy with slashing. Spear, excellent range, best against chain armor, can be thrown. Flail, good counter to range but poor blocking ability, great for mixups and catching your opponent off guard as it's difficult to block. and the only weapon class I'm not sure about adding is the Bow, only real reason is because I haven't thought of any sort of counter to it other than possibly making the ammo scarce to prevent it from being spammed.
Problems/Issues I found:
Day/Night/Weather aren't working last I checked even though I have double and triple checked that I did the coding right and for the weather even downloaded an asset pack, neither seemed to do the trick. So that's something that with another couple hours I could figure out and fix. Player not spawning on spawn platforms, not sure why it isn't happening. It's given me a ton of trouble but again, another thing that I'm sure wouldn't be hard to fix in the future. Water depth, a VERY annoying one, even though the water is plenty deep the water goes invisible as soon as you enter it, I looked up many solutions and none worked so I'll work on that one. Problems with a couple collision boxes, but nothing huge from what I noticed. And last but not least I have a lot of sound effects but couldn't figure those out, so for now they are omitted, but that wasn't a hard decision to make considering most of my sound effects would've come from weapons and battling anyway lol. But let me know if there's any I didn't happen to find :)
